Shannon was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor
in September of 2006 and was given 9-12 months to live;
unfortunately she passed away June 29, 2007.
Her mother Lori tells this story after
Shannon’s passing.
We went to Shasta Lake on a houseboat thanks to
Benefit4Kids. We made some wonderful memories. We had numerous
family members and friends come and visit us on the houseboat and
some spent the night. We all had a great time playing games,
putting puzzles together, listening to music and eating. The view
of the lake was awesome. We had a great time riding around.
We stayed at the same spot every evening.
After the first night 4 deer came right down to the back of the
houseboat to eat the lettuce, carrots and apples we fed them. How
could we stay anywhere else? There were geese with their babies, a
duck with her 12 babies and bald eagles.
Shannon loved getting to use her fishing pole
she won at a casting contest. This was the first time she used it.
We never did catch anything, but we gave it a good try. It was
feeding the wildlife that was the highlight of the trip!
Thank you for the last few wonderful memories.
Shannon’s brain tumor took her life on June 29th, 2007
after a brave fight. We will miss her greatly. Thanks to you we
have some wonderful times to remember.
Thank you,
Walter, Lori, Jayson, Travis and Shannon Shaw
